Moons Of Neptune

2021 album by Andy Tillison Diskdrive/Kalman Filter

Kalman Filter is Andy Tillison's solo project and "Moons Of Neptune" follows on from the albums "Fog", "Murk", "Durch" and "Exo-Oceans".  Highly influenced by the Berlin School artists like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Ashra. the music is flowing, melting and almost entirely instrumental. The choice of Neptune as an inspiration starting point was in response to the loneliness people endured during the Covid 19 pandemic.  Neptune is about as lonely a place as can be imagined in our own solar system. Written on cold dark nights in an isolated house on the bleak moorland of Yorkshire was an ideal setting for this piece. All 14 moons are imagined, Patrick Moore gets a look in and the music frequently dives out of the electronica element into the world of Jazz, Classical and Electro Dance. There's nearly 80 minutes of music here, including a bonus track called "Bonus Orchestral Tone Poem" (A Zappa Title if there ever was one)

If you enjoy artists like Brian Eno, Groove Armada, Jean Michel Jarre, Floating Points, Vangelis you could do worse than trying this album which is new for 2021

Release is September 1 and we will do everything possible to get it to you by then, Covid and Brexit permitting.
